The stand-out pitch from week ten of this season’s Shark Tank was for Nearly NewlyWed, an online retailer of used wedding dresses. The founder, Jackie Courtney, sells used, high-end wedding dresses on consignment, like a Marchsea Bridal dress that retails for $11,000 at $3,800, and guarantees to buy it back for $1,900. The site promises to make dresses available to brides for around 20% less than the retail price if she sells it back after the wedding. Nearly NewlyWed targets a 30-40% margin on the dress sale.

Courtney was previously a fashion publicist. Press coverage generated her initial traffic and sales, but social referral via Facebook is now her biggest traffic driver. The business has only been open for 30 days and has sold four of their first 30 dresses in inventory. They just added another 60 dresses to inventory, sourcing them from brides and stylists. They are working on distribution deals with retailers who are seeing a surge in women trying to sell their dress back after their wedding day.

Courtney sought $35,000 for 10% of the company. Four of the sharks passed. One said it was too early, two didn't think that there was a big market for used wedding gowns, and one thought that there was no scalability to the PR driven approach. Only Kevin O'Leary made an offer to invest. He said that it was a bet on the entrepreneur, but for that bet, he needed to see 40% of the company for $35,Search our wedding photo gallery for thousands of the best mother of the bride dresses pictures.000 to invest -- Courtney declined.

Although Nearly NewlyWed is very new, I think that there is something to the business.D emetrios has unveiled the catalog of his collection of Wedding Dress Shops. Hoping for the best for their marriages, lets assume that customers will only buy one gown from Nearly NewlyWed. If we take the bottom end of her ranges for price and margin, at a $2,000 average sales price, assuming a 30% margin, she has $600 of lifetime value to play with. Her customer acquisition to date has been through PR. But I suspect that even at her high price point, she can get customer acquisition costs down into the $100-200 range through online channels. That gives her a lot of room to cover overhead. If she can continue with her capital-light approach of taking gowns on consignment, I think that there are real legs to the business idea.

As the old saying goes though, retail is detail. All businesses require strong execution, but this is particularly true in e-commerce. The real question is whether Courtney has the operational expertise in the three core ecommerce functions of merchandising, marketing and operations, or if she can attract it to her company. Right now it is just her, so it is too early to tell, but this was one of the most interesting companies that I've seen pitch on Sharktank.

Courtney was right to turn down O'Leary's offer, 40% is too much equity to give up at this stage. She can probably continue to expand inventory (which should increased conversion rate and sales) by herself without any additional capital. She can clearly keep driving PR and social traffic, and should start to experiment with paid acquisition channels at relatively low cost. When The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -Kristen Stewart's Breaking quinceanera dresses red and black, designed by Carolina Herrera. And since the initial volume is low, she can fulfill out of her apartment for a while. If she sees promising results after a couple of quarters of this approach, she should be able to raise a small seed round from individual investors or small funds to take it to the next level.

A Nantwich mum has swapped life on the hospital ward for filling the wardrobes of brides-to-be!

Kate Dyson has traded in 15 years as a nurse to tie the knot with her dream venture – a wedding dress shop.

“I just happened to be driving into Tarporley one day and saw this for sale. It was perfect.”

There's this couple I heard about. You won't believe their wedding plans. For starters, you should know that they're young, early 20s. The bride wants a big, fancy, wedding at this expensive hotel. She wants the groom to wear a top hat and tails and her veil is like 10 feet long.High quality trumpet wedding dresses and simple plus size wedding dresses with short sleeves is on sale at cheap prices from Chinese wedding dresses wholesaler. The groom is basically an orphan, and he works for the bride's dad. It's not like her family is loaded, they're self-employed and struggling to put together a family business. Oh, and get this, they just met like six months ago.

Totally unrealistic right? Especially in this economy. Just another example of how today's brides are being ruined by reality TV and how people put so much effort into the wedding that the marriage can't possibly survive. Right?

Except that the couple above was my grandparents, and they had their fancy wedding in 1936 -- during The Great Depression. They were married for 70 years before they died within months of each other. They raised three sons, had nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. By all accounts they had a normal, happy, successful marriage.

Why do I mention all of this? Because I've been wondering lately about how much hate is directed towards weddings in general, and specifically, big or fancy weddings. I've been writing for a wedding blog for over four years now. Usually,2013 spring gorgeousbridesmaid dresses 2012. on a wedding blog you don't get a lot of push back about the idea of a wedding, even a big one.Can we all agree that maggie sottero wedding dress will never go out of style? But, any time you see an article about weddings on a general site (even Huffington Post) you also see a lot of negative comments.

About 10 per cent of the comments on a wedding article will be from people who think the whole idea of getting married is a joke. Why these people are reading articles about weddings and marriage is a mystery. Then, there will be a large chunk of comments from those who want you to know that they did not do anything as foolish as having a big wedding. They and their spouse spent $500 or less on their wedding, in their parents' backyard, and they've been married for over 20 years. These people want to know why today's couples can't be more like them. Why today's weddings are so big.

I get it. I too got married in a second hand dress at a park. On my mantlepiece I have a picture of my DIY Hippie-Dippy wedding right next to my grandparents' "Downton Abbey"-worthy extravaganza. If you had to guess, based on those pictures, which of us would go on to make a career in the wedding business, it wouldn't be me! But, do I think my marriage will be longer lasting or happier than my grandparents because I spent less money on my wedding? No, I do not.Get great fashion ideas and the latest trends for One-Shoulder Wedding Dresses.

I think we all make different decisions about where to spend our money for different reasons. My grandparents were immigrants. Perhaps they wanted a big, fancy wedding to show that they had made it in America, that they were here to stay. Perhaps they were trying to keep up with the Joneses in their small upstate New York town. Maybe my great-grandfather saw the big wedding as a business investment, a chance to show off for clients. Maybe, in the face of the Great Depression, the ongoing massacre of their relatives in the Holocaust, and the impending doom of World War II, they just wanted a reason to celebrate. Or maybe, my grandmother just knew how devastatingly handsome my grandfather would be in that top hat.

Some people see a big wedding as a great way to honor their friends and family, treat them to a fantastic day,Shop the latest collection of cheap demetrios wedding dresses made in china from the most popular stores - all in one place. and involve them in their marriage. Putting the guests and their needs at the center of the wedding is one of the big trends for 2013 weddings.

Some people see a small, intimate wedding as a great way to honor their relationship, to focus on the relationship instead of material goods, and yes, to save money for other things.

Both kinds of weddings are great, as long as they make the couple happy.

There's nothing about a big wedding that guarantees a happy marriage. But, there's also nothing about a big wedding that dooms a marriage.

An Iowan, I came to Flagstaff in August 2009 to pursue my master's degree. I left behind the ease of familiarity, my family and most of all, my boyfriend (Terrance) of six years. We had not been separated for longer than overnight, and I didn't know a soul in Flagstaff.

I became engrossed in my graduate studies and I soon needed an outlet. I enjoyed running but in Iowa we always ran on pavement. Northern Arizona Trail Runners Association, (NATRA), had an informative website, but trail running? Wouldn't you just end up hiking most of the time?

A sucker for novelty and a good workout, I gave it a shot. I was nervous, but on my first NATRA run everybody smiled and greeted me with warmth. The scenery was astounding and I learned of trails all throughout Flagstaff and Sedona. Soon, NATRA became my family and I was hooked. As one of the diehards, I ran during pounding rains, paralyzing cold and blinding blizzards. It was often after these forays into the wrath of nature (as well as human absurdity,) during the well-deserved post-run coffee, that we would conjure grandiose plans for epic running adventures. One time, I opened my big mouth: "A couple got married at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Half Marathon two years ago, why hasn't anyone gotten married at Soulstice?" After all,See pictures of Empire Wedding Dresses collection. I thought, race day is always filled with such love, camaraderie, and all things Flagstaff; it would be the perfect place for vows.

"Good question Sabrina, why don't we use Soulstice for your wedding?" retorted Neil Weintraub; the race director knew that Terrance had proposed to me. Weintraub became obsessed that our wedding was his key for making Soulstice's 13th running unforgettable.

While discussing the venue with my fiancé Terrance, we were hit with the reality that there would be no fancy dress and no extravagant banquets.Do not have a fashion drop waist wedding dress? I would be missing out on a lot of the traditions girls sometimes tend to dream about. Then I thought, "How happy did my friends in the throes of wedding planning seem to be?" Honestly, they seemed downright miserable and some even regularly broke down in tears. Did I really want a meticulously contrived event and burden for all involved? Heck no, I just wanted to celebrate our union with family and community. How much does it take to do that? After some convincing, my fiancé agreed!

Our marriage at Soulstice was beautifully non-conventional. There were no wedding invitations,5 Don'ts Of mermaid chiffon one shoulder wedding dress Shopping! and while we knew some of the audience, they all seemed like family. Terrance wore a tux T-shirt and I wore a white tennis dress instead of a gown. We also had a wedding cake shaped like a Nintendo. As I took Terrance's hand in front of Judge Moran under the most beautiful of autumn skies, I had the largest, happiest wedding party any girl could wish for. Looking into Terrance's eyes and telling him that I loved him and promising to always stand by his side amidst the warmth and cheers of our family in our home-away-from-home, was a dream come true.

Gerald and Lisa got engaged over Christmas in 2009 at Residence private members' club on Stephen's Green in Dublin.

Lisa had previously been engaged to boxer Joe Egan and, more famously, to Irish dancing legend Michael Flatley.

I remember an extraordinary conversation in the Merrion Hotel that we had on the evening before Flatley's wedding in Castlehyde to Niamh O'Brien.Shop the latest collection of cheap demetrios wedding dresses made in china from the most popular stores - all in one place. It was extraordinary mainly because Lisa was engaged to Flatley only eight months before (and engaged to him for four years). Lisa's mother Eileen waited for her in the car outside as we talked

"To be quite honest," she said of Flatley, "I had my time with him and I have moved on. I am happy for him and I hope he will be happy. I wish them all the best."

I said that surely a part of you must think it was strange that a man you were engaged to eight months ago is getting married now? Do you not think that it should have been you walking up the aisle?

"I don't look at it like that," Lisa answered. "I feel everything happens for a reason. It has just gone that way, you know, and it just wasn't meant to be. I wouldn't be crying over spilt milk. It is not about that. Things happen in life. And you just accept it and move on. So I don't have any feelings as regards the wedding day."

WE all remember her as the carrot-topped sweetheart who won our hearts as the face of the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony.Do not have a fashion drop waist wedding dress? Now, Nikki Webster is a princess bride.

While the former child star is used to being in the public eye, Nikki admits that she couldn't have been more nervous about walking down the isle.

"Put me in front of 1000 people to perform, and I'm fine. Make me say vows and a speech and I'm a wreck," Nikki tells Woman's Day.

"I'm also the clumsiest girl ever. I said to Dad, ‘You better hold me up in case I trip over my dress!'"

Nikki wore a princess-inspired Arushie gown designed by herself and arrived at the church in a bronze-coloured Rolls Royce.

"I felt beautiful in the dress," says Nikki. "Like a princess. I couldn't wait for Matt to see me in it."

Matt surprised his fiance with a fairytale grand entrance of a horse and carriage - just as her mother and grandmother did for their weddings - but a technical hitch on the roads meant she couldn't travel to the church in it.

The pair met on a blind date on Australia Day in 2010 and Matt popped the question in Fiji last January.

Nikki's grandparents flew in from the UK to be there for the special day.

It is widely acknowledged that the nation owes a huge debt of gratitude to the military wives who sacrifice their family life for the general good.

And this month that debt has been partially repaid as wedding boutiques around the U.S. donate dream dresses to the brides of those who have fought for the country overseas.

Throughout November,Can we all agree that maggie sottero wedding dress will never go out of style? the Brides Across America programme is giving away thousands of free wedding dresses to take some of the burden off military heroes planning their big day.

Rows of quaint, one-story homes line the streets in the Charter Pointe neighborhood on the Northeastside.

The brick facades, two-car garages and well-kept lawns make every house look almost the same in this quiet, sleepy suburb.

But on a warm July day 15 years ago, that serenity was destroyed in an instant, similar to the shock that tore through the Southeastside's Richmond Hill neighborhood one week ago.

A gas explosion sent terror through the streets. Cars and windows melted like marshmallows in a camp fire. Houses disappeared into ash clouds. A man sprinted out of his home, his legs burning.

"It sounded like a jet taking off," said Dale Apley, recalling Thursday what happened from his Eastside home. "It felt like I was on top of a volcano."

In Charter Pointe, a neighborhood tucked off 96th Street near Allisonville Road, many homeowners had to do what Richmond Hill residents are doing now: Start over. The Nov. 10th blast in Richmond Hill killed two people, damaged 86 homes and destroyed five. Can we all agree that maggie sottero wedding dress will never go out of style? The cause remains unknown.

The cause of the blast at Charter Pointe was clearer: A gas pipeline ruptured, sparking an explosion that killed an elderly woman, damaged more than 80 homes and forced Citizens Energy, then called Citizens Gas and Coke Utility, to pay more than $1 million in settlements. The National Transportation Safety Board -- which also was brought in to examine the Richmond Hill blast -- determined after a nearly two-years-long investigation that Citizens had failed to prevent damage to pipelines during drilling operations, leading to the explosion.
"Like you lost your past"

Most Charter Pointe survivors have since recovered and moved on with their lives or away from their old homes. But they still live with the consequences of the explosion -- the lost photo albums, the physical and emotional scars, the fear of another disaster. And they understand the pain being felt by Richmond Hill residents.

"It's like you lost your past," said Jill Logan, 56, whose home in Charter Pointe was destroyed. Logan, who now lives in Carmel, losther 19-year-old cat, Ashley, pictures from her childhood, and a rocking chair and table from her grandparents. Her wedding dress was ruined, just two months before she was suppose to tie the knot.

Logan lived in a Homewood Suites in the Northeastside for two months after the disaster. She slowly regained basic items, such as clothes, toiletries and a pair of glasses. Then came the more complicated tasks. Reconstructing her wedding. Recalling every item she lost for the insurance company. Shutting off utilities for a house that no longer existed.

Logan quickly realized she needed help.

"Sometimes that's difficult to do, because of your pride or whatever," she said. "But you have to allow people to help you."

Logan was at work when the explosion happened. We are a professional oscar dresses 2012 factory in china. She rushed to her neighborhood, only to be moved to the Fishers Fire Department. A firefighter eventually pointed to a map of destroyed homes, each marked with an "X." Hers was one. Later, amid the debris, Logan found only one thing of hers left standing: A 2-foot tall statue of the Virgin Mary.

"All I saw was basically ashes," she said. "And I just remember dropping to my knees and crying at that point."
"It's etched in my head"

Apley, now 50, knows exactly what it's like to lose everything in an instant. Even 15 years later, he can still recall that day in vivid detail, how he ran out of the house to see his 40th anniversary Chevrolet Corvette melting before his eyes and sprinted away from the burning wreckage of his home.

"It will never change," Apley said.High quality trumpet wedding dresses and simple plus size wedding dresses with short sleeves is on sale at cheap prices from Chinese wedding dresses wholesaler. "It's etched in my head.Search our wedding photo gallery for thousands of the best mother of the bride dresses pictures. It will never change."

Apley said he lost almost everything that day, including his prized arrowhead collection, the result of a hobby he had just taken up earlier that year, and his furniture, including several pieces he had built himself.

And Apley lost his dog and his cat, which he didn't have time to save.

"I freaked out. I didn't go back and try to help people," he said. "It just didn't seem like it was real."

Apley then began what he called the long road to recovery. There was the time spent in the hospital, getting treatment for burns all over his body. There were the therapy sessions,Top wedding dresses made in china wholesale ! where Apley said he inadvertently helped other people with their problems just by relaying his own.

Today, we update you on previous shows on Pink Chilly Bridal,Justin Alexander's 2012 high low prom dresses are the epitome of sophisticated and affordable elegance. the car damaged by the boom mechanism and 1Time chargebacks...

Pink Chilly was the name of the wedding dress shop in Durban North which closed down suddenly, leaving all those brides and quite a few newlyweds, too, in the lurch.

Most had paid 50% deposits on wedding dresses they had ordered from samples in the shop, when they heard it had closed down, while some had already got married in their dresses, and been invited to return them to the shop for possible resale, so they lost their dresses.

The shop was standing empty and the owner, Cape Town-based owner Estelle van der Westhuizen, wasn't returning their emails.

When Consumerwatch last spoke to Van der Westhuizen - on September 19 - she kept repeating that she would sort everything out, and that the brides would have their dresses couriered to them.A traditional Off-Shoulder Wedding Dresses specialising in providing an exclusively personal and professional service for brides.

That hasn't happened,Show off your beauty with bridesmaid dresses 2012 hem dress! nor does it look like it ever will.

Since the show, we've heard from a few other brides who have also been ripped off by Pink Chilly.

Elizabeth Gordon took her Pink Chilly dress to the shop in January this year, to be dry cleaned after her wedding, so her dress is among the missing, and Kirsten Cawdron, who paid Pink Chilly more than R3 600 for a dress she intended to get married in next month, hasn't seen her money or her dress.

Daveena Naicker of Hillcrest, who featured on the last Pink Chilly show, is also getting married next month, and she paid R4750 to the company in July as a deposit on her dress, which she ordered after trying on the sample dress in the Durban North store.
She was told it would take three to four months to come from “overseas”. Overseas being China, but no-one spelt that out. And she hasn't received her dress.

But since that last show aired, she has got her hands on “a” dress. She met up with a friend of Van der Westhuizen's who had the sample dresses from the shop in her garage.

But she won't be wearing the dress, which is two sizes too big, the wrong colour, and slightly soiled from being tried on repeatedly.

Instead she plans to sell it,The corset and tulle wedding dresses from Belk are elegant and tasteful. to cover the loss of her deposit, and she's ordered a dress from another bridal shop. It seems she was very lucky to get that sample dress, as she has since learnt that Jasper van der Westhuizen recently visited Durban and took the remaining sample dresses back to Cape Town with him.Read Wedding Dress Shops reviews and store ratings you buy online.

The other bride we featured on the show, Jenna Jones, got married in June and returned her R10 000 dress to Pink Chilly for resale, but the shop closed before that happened.

At the time of the show, Van der Westhuizen's husband Jasper had promised to pay her for the dress, and she has indeed since been paid, but only R3500. "better than nothing," she told Consumerwatch. “I am just so tired of the constant battle with these people.”

Others have had no luck in getting hold of either of the Van der Westhuizens. My email to Estelle earlier this week has not been responded to, and I've left a number of messages on Jasper's cellphone, with no callback.

So it's not looking good. Consumerwatch hates not being able to fix things!

FNB has been telling its affected cardholders that it can only process chargebacks after the date of the respective flights, but I have been tackling them on this, because they should have been processing them from the day the liquidation was confirmed, as the other banks are doing.

So, the saga continues.

Incidentally, bride-to-be Daveena Naicker booked her honeymoon flight tickets on, you guessed it, 1Time. She has applied for chargeback from FNB and is waiting to hear.

When you fall in love, you want to sing it from the rooftops. But with social media, you no longer have to shout. Just share the nitty-gritty of the marriage process online.

Before Facebook, the details of a proposal often stayed between the couple and their close friends and family. One wedding dresses from china up Games, Dress up games for people who love fashion. People rarely broadcast their planning process or budgets with crowds. Now, social media is taking engagements and weddings online in a very public direction, and it's creating heightened expectations and pressure that can put a damper on an otherwise beautiful event.

The Viral Engagement

The rituals of marriage are often thought of as longstanding cultural institutions, but in reality, most of the trappings signifying a union are relatively recent traditions. For example, the diamond emerged as the standard engagement ring only after an aggressive De Beers campaign after World War I. And as engagements started requiring specific rings in the 20th century, they continue to change.

Today, it's not a powerful diamond cartel molding how people approach engagements -- it's the Internet, which adds a public performance element to popping the question. Of course, before YouTube, there was always the odd bended-knee on the Jumbotron at a game. And Jumbotron proposals are a common enough occurrence to warrant an ESPN commercial -- but now a much wider swath of engagements, fueled by online sharing, are taking off.

Couples are raising the stakes to grab attention from friends increasingly accustomed to witnessing the moment. No longer is a proposal by way of flash mob necessarily a guaranteed viral hit, since that type of proposal is becoming a more regular occurrence. There are even businesses, like BookaFlashMob.com, designed to provide flash mobs for proposals or other romantic occasions. No,We are a professional china wholesale bridesmaid dresses factory in china. people like Isaac Lamb of Portland and "the world's first lib dub proposal" are resorting to more elaborate tactics to get the girl and a lot of national attention.

People who pull off these very public engagements maintain they did it to impress their fiancée first, and many claim they didn't intend for their videos to go viral, but they film the event in case it went well.

For example, New York Times tech reporter David Pogue created an elaborate fake movie trailer for his girlfriend and arranged a showing in front of family and friends in a movie theater. He then posted the results online with a shot of her reaction in the corner. Since Pogue writes about how technology intersects with day-to-day life for a living, it makes sense he would embrace the idea of viral proposals. He even provided a "How to Propose Like Pogue" Q&A on the New York Times website.

But while Pogue embraces this type of engagement, other people are less enthralled, including Slate journalist L.V. Anderson, who lambasted the idea of a public proposal. Anderson pointed out that Pogue's claim to be surprised at his proposal's reception is highly suspect. Anderson points out, "The man has 1.4 million Twitter followers, and any link that he tweets -- in this case, accompanied by the words "Here's the video of my marriage proposal yesterday, including her reaction, courtesy of a spy cam in a ficus plant!" -- gets thousands of clicks, instantly. Pogue wouldn't have posted the video of his proposal if he hadn't wanted it to garner attention, and he can't be surprised that it did."

An elaborate engagement proposal like Pogue's not only costs considerable cash -- creating a fake movie trailer and paying a theater to air it isn't cheap -- it will set the stakes extremely high for a wedding which is just as exceptional, public-facing and performative. And just as viral marriage proposals are on the uptick, so are crowd-pleasing weddings, designed with fans, followers and friends on social media sites in mind.

An Ohio hospital was transformed into a wedding venue for an engaged couple whose early labor foiled their Big Day plans.

Cynthia Reese and Michael Bof discovered Reese was pregnant three weeks after getting engaged. They planned on marrying in court before the baby was born, Reese told Yahoo! Shine. But Reese's water broke two months before her due date, so she checked into Akron General Medical Center on Nov. 5 for the rest of her pregnancy.

Their original plan now impossible, Bof decided to surprise Reese with a wedding ceremony in the hospital chapel. When hospital staff got wind of his plans, they jumped in to help elevate the simple affair.

Nurse Melody White fashioned a wedding dress out of a bedsheet and wrapped a blue monitor belt around it for a sash. Hospital visitors gave the bride flowers for her hair and played the "Wedding March" on the lobby piano, and Bof bought the rings in the gift shop.

“I was so excited,” Reese told The Today Show Wednesday. “I was so happy and overwhelmed and everybody pitching in and the surprise my fiance gave me. I’m about to cry right now.ball gown wedding dress I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Bof and Reese's son,Beach Wedding Dresses Michael Frederick Bof II, was born the following morning -- just three days after Reese checked in to the hospital.

The couple's hospital wedding isn't the first: in July, Lianne and Jason Greenlees tied the knot in a hospital garden while awaiting the birth of their twin daughters.

Before Cemantha could ask Bill to wait until she finished her host duties, Amanda stepped up to do them for her.

Bill and Cemantha walked across the street toward an open area with a gazebo, and, as they got closer, Cemantha saw candles flickering.wedding dresses made in china wholesale

"Did you tell anybody about this?" she asked Bill.

We were the sixth couple ever to be married aboard the Queen Mary 2. For 171 years, the British-flagged Cunard Line, which has sailed the world's most storied ocean liners — among them the Lusitania, the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth 2 — registered births and deaths at sea, but never weddings, owing to a quirk in British law that requires marriages to be officiated in a publicly accessible place, and such a place cannot move, much less splash its way across the North Atlantic.

Last year, however, Cunard switched the registrations of its ships from their historic home port of Southampton, England, to the anything-goes maritime hub of Hamilton, Bermuda. This change was purportedly made so that the company could cash in on weddings at sea. But it also coincided with a new British labor law that would have complicated Cunard's hiring practices.

Yana and I set sail from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, in Red Hook, the neighborhood where we usually go to buy cheap furniture and olives.One-Shoulder Wedding Dresses Even our cabdriver was excited as we drove into port, exclaiming, “Queen Mary 2!” into his Bluetooth headset between bursts of Urdu. Of course, on the quay, there was none of the hullabaloo of the 1920s, when a scrum of reporters nicknamed “Gangplank Willies” kept tabs on the scions and starlets who would reliably stream off trans-Atlantic steamships.

Our stateroom was decked out in as much nuptial folderol as Cunard could muster: flowers, canapés, Marc de Champagne truffles, bottles of Champagne. We sat on the lounge chairs in the balcony, snacked on strawberries and called our mothers to say goodbye. Both were wounded that we were getting married without them — without anyone, actually — but they expressed this sentiment in different ways. My mom wouldn't even admit to it, which became awkward, whereas for weeks before we left, Yana's mother could not stop saying, simple plus size wedding dresses with short sleeves “I'll never forgive you.”

As we pushed off, the Champagne displacing whatever feelings of guilt we had, I reminded Yana that, technically, we had also gotten engaged on the water. It happened a year earlier, on the first day of a trip to Europe. I had wanted to do it on the plane ride. But we were seated in a center row right behind the lavatories, and not a minute would elapse without the high-pitched flushing of a toilet. So I waited. We landed obscenely early in the morning and our hotel room wasn't ready, so we dropped off our bags and went for a walk. When I asked her, the sun was coming up and we were in a strange city on a bridge that spanned a harbor. Some might think this scene romantic but the truth is the early summer sunrise cast us in a rather clinical light and we looked sickly and tired, and although Yana laughed a bunch and then said yes — we had been together since college, and decided years ago that we were it for each other — I think both of us felt strangely untouched. It wasn't until two nights later, in Athens, that Yana told her mom, who wept openly via Skype. Hearing her, I felt my vision go blurry and realized I was crying, too.

Even though the crossing could be accomplished in under four days, Cunard pads the voyage out to seven, wedding dresses made in china wholesale to improve fuel economy and to have guests spend more money at the blackjack table or at Todd English's restaurant. (Crossings start at $1,345 per person, based on double occupancy.) Our wedding was scheduled in the afternoon on the fifth day. Until then, we were just ordinary passengers, experiencing the pleasures and privations unique to this mode of conveyance. We drank as though the ship were doomed, as though there were U-boats and mines and icebergs everywhere. We spent our hangovers in the steam room or in the sanitarium-style “relaxation room,” lounging in our bathrobes, reading British shelter magazines. On the exposed decks we sat on teak lounge chairs, covered ourselves in heavy wool quilts and sipped teacups filled with hot bouillon. It was blustery, at times freezing, even in June, and Yana couldn't wear her floppy sun hat. Our bathing suits were reserved for daring midnight sorties to the whirlpool.ball gown wedding dress

On the appointed day, we poured ourselves two glasses of gin with ice and lots of lime and began to get dressed. Getting dressed is the best part of cruising, and on a typical crossing, three of the nights are formal (tuxedos for men) and two are semiformal (jacket and tie), so there's a lot of repairing to the cabin, making cocktails, playing music, primping and preening. On any Queen Mary 2 voyage there is no restriction on the amount of luggage you can bring along, and our suite came with a giant walk-in closet spacious enough for one of Cunard's 133-day around-the-world voyages.

Yana's bouquet arrived. A day earlier, we had gone below deck to consult with a florist named Mikey and ordered a white rose boutonnière for me and something called the “exotica” bouquet for Yana. This was a mistake. Mikey had not created a bouquet so much as a tropical ecosystem; the stems were wrapped in what looked like surgical tape, and there were so many that Yana couldn't fit her hands around them. We loosed the ugly thing and made a smaller, makeshift bouquet out of a few of the calla lilies.

On eBay, I had bought a vintage sharkskin Lanvin tuxedo for $150. I'm not immune to toffishness, especially at a discount, and plus, I said to myself, this was a nod to the bygone glamour of the trans-Atlantic. (I thought of Cary Grant, who had met one of his five wives on the original Queen Mary.) I had spent a fortune altering this tux and as I was struggling — even with the help of six different YouTube instructional videos — to manage my bow tie, the knee of the trousers ripped apart. I put on a backup suit. Yana's dress, meanwhile, was made of white crepe. It was sleeveless, short and had a slit down the back.

As soon as I exited our stateroom I ran into a red liveried porter waiting outside. This was Yana's usher, and he looked exceedingly uncomfortable under his bellboy cap. We smiled obsequiously at each other, then I turned and took the stairs up two decks to the brushed-wood cocktail lounge, the Commodore Club. By this point in the voyage, we had come to know the Commodore rather well; it's where we liked to take our predinner, after-dinner, late-night and noontime cocktails, and it was also home to Churchill's, the enclosed, air-purified cigar bar,Beach Wedding Dresses where we smoked Romeo y Julieta cigarillos and made friends with a Saudi financier. Upon learning that it was our wedding cruise, he insisted on buying us a bottle of Champagne and then asked us where he should open up his next Zara franchise.

The wedding itself would take place in a private room off the Commodore Club called “The Boardroom.” There was a podium and a makeshift altar with more “exotica” flowers. Our one-tier wedding cake was inside and wedding programs were placed on rows of armchairs, even though we had no guests. (Cunard's wedding program, which starts at $2,500, was only a few months old at this point, so some hiccups were to be expected.) In walked Christopher Wells, the Queen Mary 2's steady hand, a spindly, somewhat persnickety Englishman. “Hallo, Captain!” said the assembled staff, which included a ship-appointed photographer; the captain's secretary, a ruddy Dane named Christel; and the ship's social secretary, Tanya.

Miley Cyrus might be going for a punk rock look with her shorn haircut, piercings and tattoos but that doesn't mean that the teen doesn't want a conventional wedding as she has revealed that she wants a big, ‘poufy' wedding dress.

The former Disney star is engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth, and despite her insistence that a wedding is the last thing on her mind right now as she concentrates on re-launching her music career, she was happy to answer questions from Sophia Grace and Rosie on Ellen's show.

Miley, 19, appeared on the show earlier this week where she had tea with the British kid stars, and they excitedly quizzed her on the wedding details. It didn't take long for the girls to ask to see the engagement ring, after become pals at the VMAs earlier this year.

“Yes you can.bridesmaid dresses 2012 It's actually very sparkly. I just got it cleaned, just now,” she said, before adding: “It's so fun and so sparkly.”

Sophia Grace wanted details about the wedding dress, let's hope that fiancé Liam Hemsworth wasn't tuning in.

“What will your wedding dress look like?” she asked.

Miley then turned to the girls' signature look of big ballet skirts and tiaras, by said: “I'm going to guess something much like yours. Like you have on now. A little frill, maybe no colour.”

She then added: “Probably just white, but something you know, poufy. We got to have the pouf, you know so you look real small here (pointing at her waist) and then all pouf.”

Sophia Grace and Rosie have become quite good pals with Miley, which led to the eldest of the two to hint that she wanted to play a role in star's nuptials.

“I'd love to be bridesmaid for your wedding,” she said.

Smart Miley then replied: “'You look like you're in the perfect attire…throw the flowers in front. It'd be the most magical day ever. Have tea after….”

Losing weight for the wedding is on almost every bride's agenda. However, wedding dresses from china skipping meals on the day of your wedding is a mistake. You won't really lose any more weight on the big day, so go ahead and eat some carbs. Even a big bowl of pasta at the rehearsal dinner is nothing a pair of Spanx can't handle on the wedding day. In fact, it's so easy to forget to eat on the wedding day that you should make sure to schedule in lunch. Delegate someone (like mom or a bridesmaid) to be in charge of making the bride eat. Brides need their stamina. Most likely they'll be in their dress and camera-ready hours before the wedding even starts. The adrenaline surging through her on that day makes food fuel, and an absolute necessity. If brides expect to make it through the day and the endless glasses of champagne that she'll be holding most of the night, a hearty meal early on is key. If you're nervous about your stomach looking bloated in the satin, sheath, bias-cut dress, then drink some healthy smoothies or load up on protein and veggies. Whatever you do, eat. No one wants to see a fainting bride, a drunken bride, or a bride crying so much because her nerves are so frayed -- all of which happen more easily on an empty stomach.

Here's a little test. During your wedding planning process, ask your fiancé about the last wedding you attended together. Ask him what he thought of the chair covers, favors, centerpieces, escort cards, cake topper, etc. Most times, he won't remember any of these details, even if the bride spent hours selecting each one. Ask yourself, "Will anyone remember this?" It is a good barometer if you're stuck with a tough decision or something is going to cost much more than you originally budgeted. No one is suggesting you completely ignore the small details, but asking yourself about its overall importance helps when the caterer tries upselling colored napkins or chair covers. It also puts things in perspective if some of the details are driving you crazy.

"Most bridal shoes—although they might be nice styles—are mass-produced in Asia. My shoes are very different; they are exclusive to my store. These are fine handcrafted shoes from Italy at 20 to 30 percent savings. When people come in, they tell me, 'I hear your shoes are very comfortable.' They're comfortable because of the flexible soles, the finest fabrics. A bride deserves that on her wedding day.

To many customers, a shoe is a shoe. They want a comfortable shoe, but they're not necessarily willing to pay for it. But the only way you get comfort is to pay for it. Brides are spending thousands and thousands of dollars on their weddings, and they feel better in better shoes.bridesmaid dresses 2012 If you buy something cheap somewhere, you lose, I lose, and then you're on the dance floor without your shoes.

Sometimes brides ask me if I have shoes in stock, because they have a fitting in two days. Yes, I have 2,000 pairs of shoes in stock—all paid for, so that's a huge investment on my part.

The other thing they might say is, 'Well, with my dress, no one's going see my shoes, and I'm never going to wear them again.' And then inside I go kind of berserk. Everyone's gonna see your shoes, 'cause you're gonna lift your dress, and you can wear them again, because you can dye them another color, probably black.

I'm here seven days a week. I can't imagine someone else doing what I do. It's not that I can't trust somebody else; I'm just so used to doing all aspects of my business, right down to the window washing. I could pay a guy $10 to do it, but he's not gonna wash the window the way I'm gonna wash the window.

I dye each shoe individually by hand. You apply the dye with a wool pom-pom dauber. You have to move very quickly, and you can't stop, or it'll streak. If the phone rings, you just don't pick it up.

For the most part, I am very comfortable working with brides. I have patience. Brides want to do research, wedding dresses from china which I think is great. I see myself in my brides. I would do exactly what they're doing. I want to learn about the styles, how they feel. I get it.

It just kills me when people say they never knew about my store. Or people move away, and then come back and say, 'Oh, I forgot about you.' How could you forget a store that has all bridal shoes?"

A HOSPICE that helps Spa residents and their families is celebrating after a donation of more than 300 new bridal gowns and prom dresses.

The wedding dresses would normally retail for up to 1,200 but brides-to-be won’t have to fork out more than around 300 for one of the outfits.

The dresses will go on sale at the new St Richard’s Hospice charity shop which opens at The Cross, Worcester, on Friday.

As well as 320 wedding dresses and 100 prom dresses, the donation included 250 pairs of wedding shoes, gloves and tiaras.

St Richard’s shops and commercial director Dan Corns said: “ We were absolutely stunned when the owner of Chalmaine of Worcester bridal shop made us the offer. We couldn’t believe our luck.

Before you read what you're about to read, keep in mind that former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens and American soccer star Hope Solo were planning to get married today, and according to one report, they still intend to do so.

Now ... about their wedding day. Reports first came out on Tuesday afternoon from Chris Daniels of Seattle TV station KING5, indicating that Stevens, who played in the NFL from 2002 through 2010, was arrested and charged

A few minutes after those reports, Daniels then said that a judge in Kirkland, Wa. court found no probable cause to hold Stevens, and he was released.

"Stevens will be released," Daniels continued. "Solo said nothing as she left courtroom, jumped into waiting vehicle ..Thrill your bridal party with stunning White by Vera Wang Halter Wedding Dresses.. Attorneys for Stevens & Solo would not address whether the 2 were/are set to get married ... Police report says Stevens and Solo were set to get married on Tuesday and argument was about whether they'd live in FL or WA ... Police report says Marcus Solo (Hope's brother) said there was altercation in house with unknown person, and involved a stun gun."

According to the Seattle PostIntelligencer, Marcus Solo was the one who called Kirkland police, and when police came to the scene, he had blood on his forehead and knees, and a bruised eye. Hope solo then emerged from the house, intoxicated and with a laceration on her elbow. She did not cooperate with police and told her brother not to say anything. When police swept the house, they found eight intoxicated people, a woman in the kitchen with a hip injury, and Stevens on the floor of an upstairs bedroom, claiming that he was sleeping, not hiding.

Stevens had blood on his cheek and his shirt. He admitted that he had been arguing with Solo, and since police have to make an arrest when there is a domestic violence call, Stevens was arrested and charged with fourthdegree assault.

After Stevens' release, Daniels reported that if possible the situation was about to get even stranger.

"Solo did not speak to media," Daniels tweeted. "There are multiple indications she will be marrying Jerramy Stevens tonight ... Court documents, and Bridemaids Dresses.Beach wedding dresses chiffon, one wedding dresses made in china wholesale for girls special events."

We're not sure how YOUR wedding day went, but it probably (hopefully) didn't look anything like this.

It may be a while before all the facts are unearthed, but whether Stevens is guilty or not, it was certainly easy to believe that he was. Jerramy Stevens has passed through the last decadeandahalf in a haze of criminal confrontations and eventual escape routes based on his athletic ability. He was charged with felony assault in high school, violated the terms of his home confinement with a marijuana charge, and was eventually able to plead that charge out to misdemeanor assault and time served.

You see, the University of Washington had a rising star on its hands.Collection of recommend press release and on Beach Wedding Dresses, including wholesale dress china.

In 2000, Stevens was not charged in an alleged rape that still burns a lot of people familiar with the incident. ThenKing County prosecutor Norm Maleng, who had a history of letting football players off with slaps on the wrist in potential criminal situations, said that there was "insufficient evidence" to charge Stevens.

Maryann Parker, a 14year veteran of the Seattle Police Department at that time, was the investigating officer.

"I thought he should have been charged," Parker told the Seattle Times. "I think most people in the Police Department thought he should have been charged. From the police perspective, I think there was overwhelming evidence that a crime had occurred. And then I think we should have left it to a jury to decide. I think we just felt, in our unit and in the Police Department as a whole, that this case was handled differently. And we felt it was because he was a University of Washington football star."

Stevens wasn't done with his college antics in May of 2001, he slammed his pickup truck into the side of a retirement home,2013 spring gorgeousball gown wedding dress. drove away, and tried to lie about the incident when he was caught.

This preferential treatment didn't stop when Stevens became an NFL player. If anything, it became more prevalent. Selected in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2002 NFL Draft, Stevens faced a litany of DUI and drug charges throughout his career with the Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Our priority is to offer excellent services and unbeatable discount price quinceanera dresses red and black to our customers. Perhaps more disturbing was the general sense among those familiar with Stevens' time in Seattle that he got away with things traffic stops, lack of effort and preparation in his profession, property damage that others would have had to answer for.

Stevens was out of the NFL after the 2010 season, but trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes. In that sense, Tuesday's bit of insanity came as no surprise.

Founded by Oz Eliyahu, Naama Eliyahu, Dror Shimoni, and Tali Saar, the idea for HoneyBook primarily came from the two married founders' (Oz and Naama) own needs. “They wanted to get all the media that was created at their weddings,” explains Saar. “The photos were with the photographer, a lot of their friends had photos on their phones, videos were uploaded to YouTube, some things were on Facebook – they really found that their wedding was all over the place,” she says. “There was no real place to present it to the world.”

With HoneyBook, the idea is that photographers, and soon, couples themselves, can upload their own content from their wedding, without losing the social experience you would have when sharing on sites like Facebook, for example. Album viewers can like and comment on the entries, and even share their own media through a special “guest uploads” section. In the future, the plan is to integrate with other services ranging from social sites to wedding-specific apps, in order to import content created elsewhere. A mobile companion application, which will also support sharing content and album viewing, is in the works, too.

But all this is on the longer roadmap – for now, the company is just focused on expanding its reach with the professional photography market. It had already signed up 300 testers in private outreach efforts prior to today's beta launch, and is now looking to grow that install base.

A number of wedding-focused startups have emerged in recent months, including RegistryLove,Enjoy our fresh 2012 collections of One-Shoulder Wedding Dresses and special occasion dresses. Appy Couple, Wedit,Show off your beauty with bridesmaid dresses 2012 hem dress! Lover.Beach wedding dresses chiffon, one wedding dresses made in china wholesale for girls special events.ly, WedPics, Wedding Party, WeddingLovely,2013 spring gorgeousball gown wedding dress. Weduary, and more (to name a few!), and some of these aim to offer a similar experience to HoneyBook, in terms of providing a digital and/or collaborative online album. However, HoneyBook's biggest differentiator may be its business model. The company is planning to keep the service free for all, including both the couples and photographers, and instead plans to monetize by becoming a crowdsourced database of wedding vendors.

“Once we have a few thousand or tens of thousands of HoneyBooks, we're going to transform them into the largest crowdsourced wedding catalog in the world,” explains Saar. “We find that brides are proud and happy to share who their vendors were because they worked so hard on finding the perfect dress, the perfect venue – they're happy to tell you how they found them and who they are.” The way this will work is that brides will be able to tag who their vendors were inside their photos, and then share these with the service. To be clear, the bride won't have to make their entire album public – just the photos representative of a particular vendor. So, for example, a shot of the buffet for the caterer, the invitations for the printer, the flowers for the florist, and so on.

And yes, we're saying “brides” here because HoneyBook is after the so-called Pinterest-using demographic, which skews female.

Heyyyyy, ladies! I'm sure you all know that not only is your wedding day the most important day of your life, should you not have a wedding then you are a complete failure as a human being (until, of course, you are unable to conceive children) (or, until you are unable to balance a work life and a home life at the same time) (what the hell is wrong with you, do you not want to have it all?). Luckily for you, the DIY Bride is back to help you with this important, momentous occasion that will ultimately be the greatest indicator of your personal success and happiness! This week, the wedding expert shares a checklist for finding the perfect dress.

Obviously, the wedding dress is the centerpiece of the ceremony and, naturally, the marriage itself. If you screw up your dress, you're likely to screw up your relationship with your perfect man. I'm sure most of you are thinking, "So, like, I just have to worry about it being strapless or sequined or white or off-white, depending on my sexual history and the judgment likely to come from the groom's extended family members from the South?" Oh, you silly ladies, there's so much more for you to worry about!

Planet, proposed by Robbie Parker of Concord College, would be an organic, community-oriented restaurant in Charleston's East End.

"There are 124,000 people living there, with growing families," Parker said. "We need this for a more community-oriented lifestyle in the East End."

Planet would use only West Virginia-based products and would be "a place for everyone to come for entertainment, epicurianism and education," he said.Show off your beauty with bridesmaid dresses 2012 hem dress!

And students at Marshall University would have a new late-night option if their fellow student Sam Frazier started Tacos Nocturnos, a Thursday-through-Saturday dining cart.

Frazier would serve chicken and beef tacos with all the standard condiments, and he would overcome his competition with affordability and accessibility.

Other pitches included Precision Tools, with a new type of drywall cutting bit, pitched by Charles Cline of WVU; Delivery 2U, a meal delivery service proposed by Joshua Ramsey and Preston Veal of Glenville State College; Holy Cow Livestock Sales, an eBay-style cattle auction service offered by Thomas Schenkel of WVU; and Ivory Lace, a plus-size custom bridal boutique proposed by Andrea Haymond of Shepherd University.

As a newlywed, I first read Lindsley Lowell's piece "Why I Refuse to Join the Smug Married Club" thinking maybe there was behavior I should recognize and avoid. Are married ladies that smug? Is it inevitable that both groups are just warring camps with each taking vicious barbs at the other's lifestyle? Are married women the Jets and single women the Sharks? Do they dance around each other cautiously knowing the other side is just not their type of people? I'd like to think not.

However, I'm sure every single woman can describe a moment when a married woman (maybe completely unintentionally) has said something condescending or passive aggressive with the effect of making said singleton feel like a total loser. Personally, I got "Why are you still single?" all the time. Apparently my single status needed to be solved, as if I wasn't trying to work on it myself. This phrase is infuriating because it treats being single like a disease that one should know better than to catch. Also, there is no appropriate answer. For Lowell, the statement was pretty blatant and offensive. Her example of the smug married club happened when she was the only single bridesmaid at her friend's wedding. She described, "An extremely obnoxious fellow bridesmaid gave me a speech on how tragic my single life must be and how she would "absolutely die" if she were ever single again and how she was "so incredibly happy" in her marriage."

This scenario was probably worse than normal because it was at a wedding. Being single at a wedding is like being prime meat in a window display at a butcher shop. Everyone wants to set up the single girl at a wedding. From grandmothers and great uncles to old high school friends, they all get in on the act. Everyone will come up to the single girl and say, "Have you met my _______ (insert nephew, college roommate, little brother, co-worker, etc.) Tom?"

So yes, it would appear that there are some smug married women out there. This is both confusing and sad. It seems especially cruel to hurt or demean any group you were once a part of. Every married woman out there was once single. Some may have married very young and their single days were few and far between, but more often than not, most married women were in the dating game for long enough to know better.

Personally, I was one of the last of my friends to get married (it just happened last month). I'm in my mid-30s and have been a bridesmaid nine times. I have been forced out onto the dance floor to catch a bouquet when the only other woman there was the divorced mother of the groom. I have a section of my closet where bridesmaid dresses go to die or are turned into Halloween costumes (18th century vampire, Audrey Hepburn, Zombie Miss USA contestant anyone?) Trust me I get it. The last thing I would ever want to do is belittle single women.

However, I don't believe married women are walking around smugly congratulating themselves about their marital status. Instead, I think they remember the harder parts of being single and try for sympathy but mistakenly come off as offensive. Being single, at times, is awesome and other times, it feels like war. When women get together, they bond over shared war stories. Maybe some married women inadvertently describe the toughest parts of being single unaware they are making a single gal feel bad. For every bad date story, there is probably an equally fun story about an all-girls trip to Vegas or night of dancing at clubs.

Weddings aside, whether single or married, each has moments of jealousy of the other. Life is often a grass is always greener on the other side scenario. Single women get jealous of the guy that sleeps next to you each night, kills spiders, stays home on a Friday night to pick a Netflix film and share a good bottle of wine, and loves you no matter what. Married women get jealous of the freedom, endless "me" time, girls nights, a life without babysitters, the anticipation of a new date, or the thrill of a great first kiss. It's not saying either one hates their life or leads a sad, jealous existence. So the worst thing we can do is make single women feel bad for being single, or assume that a wedding and a marriage certificate brings anyone perfect happiness. In fact, if we look at the country's divorce rate, it's pretty obvious that a lot of those marriages aren't very happy. One wedding dresses from china up Games, Dress up games for people who love fashion.

The better solution is to recognize that no one truly knows the ins and outs of anyone's life. No matter what box someone checks off to describe their status: single, married, divorced, widowed, or it's complicated, that alone does not define them. Sometimes being single is awesome, and sometimes it sucks. I'd say the same is true for marriage. However, if anyone has managed to make a single person "feel pitied or sub-human", remember the advice of Eleanor Roosevelt, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

For a Veterans Day observance Sunday, Army 2nd Lt. Jessica Akers wore the uniform of the day — floor-length white chiffon and sequins.

This is how you recognize a bride, just as you know soldiers by their fatigues and combat boots. Akers traded one for the other to choose a gown for her wedding next October to Mike Cornell of Hagerstown, Md., a fellow Iraq veteran.

Akers, her mother, sister, bridesmaids and 6-month-old niece drove from

Graysonville, Md., to the Sposabella bridal shop in Feasterville to take part in Brides Across America, a program that offers free wedding gowns to service members or their fiancées.

Several brides-to-be drove similarly long distances for a perk that knocked hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, off the cost of their weddings.

“Being in the military, a lot of people seem to think we make so much,” said retired Marine Staff Sgt. Larry Douglas Jr., an Iraq veteran who traveled from New York with his fiancée, Bernice Terry.

He said the bridal event was a welcome gesture of appreciation.Off-Shoulder Wedding Dresses

“It's an awesome program, what with the cost of dresses these days,” he said.

Douglas and Terry, who dated 22 years ago before he joined the Marines, reunited via social media and plan to wed in the Bahamas in December 2013.

Rachel Tringali of Astoria, N.Y., is scheduled to marry Army Sgt. Robert Marston in a civil ceremony later this year before he deploys to Korea. She will have to plan their church wedding mostly on her own before he returns in early 2014.ball gown wedding dress

“Rob and I are paying for everything. I work, and he's working, too. Our parents can't really help us,” she said.

One strapless, crystal-dusted lace La Sposa designer gown later,Wedding Dress Shops “This is one less thing to worry about,” she said.

Sposabella owner Roberta Rushing booked nine appointments on Sunday with military brides-to-be. While the Brides Across America program makes it clear certain restrictions may apply to the selection of gowns, Rushing gave away at least one designer dress worth $2,500.

The Justin Alexander silk and silk tulle gown was chosen by Bobbi Fuss of Newtown, who tried it on with a matching fairy-princess veil spangled, like the dress, with crystals.

“Yep! This is the one!” she said. Fuss will wear the gown on the Spirit of Philadelphia next August to marry Stanley Jakubowicz, an Iraq veteran who is a pilot in the Army Reserves and also flies a medical helicopter in Doylestown.

With several months' income lost due to illness, “This helps us a lot, moneywise,” said Fuss.

Giving away expensive dresses is a major business decision, but “When they (Brides Across America) approached us, we couldn't say no,” said Rushing.A-Line Wedding Dresses “They (veterans) sacrifice so much for us.”

Prospective brides, aided by sisters, mothers and friends, tried on dresses from Sposabella's ruffled, lacy, sequined and satiny inventory.

This was not a preordained destination for Akers, who said she “wasn't the girl who always dreamed about the perfect wedding. This is my first time dress shopping, at all, ever.”

Eyeing a sleeveless dress with a ruffled neckline, Akers said she imagined that she'd end up walking down the aisle in a $99 dress. “To think I actually have options for designer (apparel)!” she said.

Akers tried on several dresses, including a strapless gown with a pleated satin waistband and an embroidered lace train; then a draped, one-shoulder Greek goddess dress dusted with crystals that her mother, Janet, said was more appropriate for an officers' ball.

Akers settled on a La Sposa dress with a rhinestone-embroidered bodice and straps and a tiered skirt with a train she plans to cut back. “It's an outdoor wedding,” she explained.

“It means a lot to Jessica, the fact of the military,Halter Wedding Dresses and it being a gift,” said Akers' sister, Julie Darling. “It really means more than buying a dress.”

It was a common sentiment among the military brides-to-be. “Our budget was next to none,” said Bernice Terry, who hoped to find a mermaid gown for her island wedding. “It means a lot to both of us.”

Emmy Award-winning media personality Maria Papadakis, Philly.com contributor, and Raw Artists TV host, and Brendan Kent, associate business manager at Kent & Kent, were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony on Saturday afternoon at St. George Greek Orthodox Church Cathedral in Philadelphia. The bride is the daughter of renowned Drexel University President and CEO Constantine “Taki” Papadakis, who passed away in 2009, and Eliana Papadakis; the groom is the son of Lawrence J. Kent, partner at Kent & Kent, and Mary Kent. Maria's dress was a unique Monique Lhuillier, with a white-lace beaded corset and a silk organza skirt co-designed by Mark Ingram. Her cathedral-length veil, specially designed by Peter Langer in Italy, complements the wedding dress's intricate beading. The bride wore Vera Wang three-inch stilettos that she wore when she danced at her first father-daughter dance a decade ago as a debutante at the International Debutante Ball at the Waldorf Astoria when she was 17.

I was honored to be one of the groomsmen, but conflicted as I wasn't allowed to carry my camera during the ceremony. Although I didn't take the church shot (that was taken by my partner Mike Toub), the rest of the photos are mine. Below: My fellow groomsmen as we get ready at the Hyatt at the Bellevue before the ceremony (from left to right): Brendan Kent, Grigorios Papadourakis, Thomas Macie, Bradley Moatz, Peter Kent, Anthony Vaganos (partially blocked), Patrick Fay, Andrew Rosenthal and Spiros Skilros.

The newlyweds met through a chance encounter when Maria's mother, Eliana Papadakis, was attending a Greek wedding in Ithaca, New York in the summer of 2010. Customary at Greek weddings. Brendan Kent noticed Eliana sitting alone at the dinner table and decided to ask her to dance with him. He made an impression on Eliana, and she decided to play matchmaker by introducing the couple at a mutual friend's post-wedding reception.

After the wedding ceremony, we headed over to the Academy of Music. The historic venue was transformed, with a giant ballroom floor extending over the theater seats for a total of 4,700 square feet. The famous chandelier in the opulent opera house was lowered so the more than 550 guests could get a closer view.

While the guests enjoyed the fabulous Jose Garces-catered cocktail party on the second floor of the Academy, with (I heard) the most delicious lamb chops, the bridal party posed for Marie Labbancz Photography, who took the official photograph for the Kent wedding. Then it was backstage for us, as the guests found their seats. Below: Spiros Skilros, Andrew Rosenthal, Brendan Kent (partially hidden) Maria Papadakis, Katie Kent, Sarena Snider, Rachel Moore and Harley Benson. Missing bridesmaids included Ashley Vanett, Christine Hanhausen, and Kayla Engle. The flower girl was Konstantina Karloutsos, and the ring bearer was Alexander Karloutsos.

The bride and groom dance to their first song together as man and wife, “Some Enchanted Evening” from South Pacific, bridesmaid dresses 2012 as performed by CTO Entertainment's Eddie Bruce and his band. South Pacific was the first musical Brendan and Maria saw together on the stage at the Academy of Music. Pretty amazing.

Below: Anthony Vaganos, koumbaros, and Chrysa Tsakopoulos, koumbara. The koumbaro(a) assists in the wedding ceremony. They are required to be a member in good standing with a Greek Orthodox Church. Here they both give congratulatory toasts to the newlyweds. Makeup and hair of the bridesmaids was done by two women Maria met doing her monthly Raw Artist gig at G Lounge: Mari Nunex did hair, and Wendie Hetherington did the makeup.

Although many guests were local, some came from as far away as L.A., Ann Arbor, Michigan, Panama, Greece, Japan and Germany.

One of the people Maria and Brendan thanked in their remarks of the evening was Anne Ewers, president and CEO of Kimmel Center, who was immensely helpful in the securing the legendary music hall for their wedding. With Anne is her husband Fred Hagen.

Below: Wedding planner Karen Homer (right), president and CEO at HKH Innovations, with mother-of-the-bride Eliana Papadakis. This was the first wedding ever held in the auditorium of the Academy of Music. Karen knows a thing or two about putting on a production of this magnitude as she's been involved in the Academy Ball Gala, as well as the opening of the Barnes Foundation earlier this year. Brian Kappra, Evantine Design, created a beautiful atmosphere with gorgeous centerpieces with fragrant, sweet-smelling flowers, including red roses, which are a favorite of Maria's. The whole evening was right on par with the most beautiful wedding that Maria always dreamed of having.

Below: David Dubbeldam and Ellen Berman Lee. Ellen told me the Academy and the bride were “breathtakingly beautiful,” and she was so glad to be included in celebrating the marriage. Another breathtaking moment was when two singers of the Opera Company of Philadelphia performed excerpts from La Boheme and West Side Story from the balcony for the guests.cheap demetrios wedding dresses made in china

Below: Kristyn Aldrich, Focused Studios Video Production, WMMR's Marisa Magnatta, and Katie English. Katie has her own PR company and tells me to watch the news on Tuesday as her client, The Philly Pops, have a big announcement coming.

Below: Larry and Mary Kent were beaming with pride all evening. The night before, they hosted a wonderful rehearsal dinner at the Rose Garden for the entire wedding party, friends and family that could have been a small wedding itself, complete with lessons on how to dance a few of the Greek steps we would need for the wedding reception. I am still savoring the delicious lemon-roasted lobster and risotto, as well as the miso-marinated grouper by executive chef Richard Hebben.

Tony Greene could not wait for her soul mate to get back from Iraq so that they could plan their dream wedding. She just never thought her dream dress would factor into the big day.

But thanks to Brides Across America, Greene will now be one of about 5,000 military brides who will walk down the aisle in a gorgeous (and very expensive!) white wedding gown. Since 2007, the nonprofit has been doling out dresses to military couples, so long as the bride or the groom has deployed in the last five years.

“We wouldn't have been able to afford it,” Greene told Fox News as she admired the dress she chose. “Not this.”

A number of bridal salons across the country hosted special shopping events for military brides on Sunday in honor of Veterans Day as a way to say “thanks.”

Roberta Rushing, owner of Sposabella –- a bridal shop in Pennsylvania –- booked nine appointments with military brides-to-be on Sunday, phillyburbs.com reports.

“When they (Brides Across America) approached us, we couldn't say no,” Rushing told the news outlet. “They (veterans) sacrifice so much for us.”

A local bridal store celebrated Veteran's Day today, by giving away free bridal gowns to military brides.
This is the second year the Bridal Shoppe in Eau Claire is holding the military giveaway. And after three hours of trying on gown after gown, one local bride did not go home empty-handed.

"It feels so good, my mom and I had a moment jumping up and down and almost crying,” said military bride Ashley Pliscott.

This fall has been a very exciting season for the 18 year old Ashley Pliscott: she got engaged this October to 20-year-old active duty airman Bryan Smetana of Black River Falls, and just a month later she got her dream gown completely free.

"What are the odds of me marrying somebody that's active duty air force and they are giving away the dresses right around the same weekend I was going to go shopping for it, it's been great, more than I can ask for,” said Pliscott.

Pliscott and Smetana met when he was already stationed in Florida. The couple has been dating long-distance since they met, and haven't been together for more than a few days at a time for a whole year. Smetana just signed another two-year contract, and could be deployed anytime.

"It's hard enough with someone being gone, and planning a wedding can be a lot of stress, so it's just one last thing they have to worry about,” said the owner of the Bridal Shoppe, Shannon Lindquist.

The shop has given out up to 5 dresses in the past, but since Pliscott was the only military bride at the doors this morning, she even got upgraded to the more expensive gowns to choose from, bridesmaid dresses 2012 all of which were donated by the store.

"Giving a gift like that to a family that sacrificed so much to our country is just wonderful, they aren't words to describe it,” said bride's best friend Rachel Mortel.

Because Pliscott was the only bride at the store, she received a package deal give-away which is a brand new addition this year. That includes, cheap demetrios wedding dresses made in china hair, make-up, cake, photography, alterations, flowers, spa and tanning...all free for her wedding day in August.

Kate Middleton takes the cake in Hollywood, so to speak, as the phenomenon of Kate's popularity takes hold in this star riddled neck of the woods prompting folks to want anything affiliated with the future queen. This wasn’t the only confectionary royal delight to make a big sale on the auction block as a much older slice of cake, that was created for Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ wedding in 1981, fetched closed to the same amount at a previous auction. The popularity of Kate and the royals has taken hold in the U.S.Show off your beauty with bridesmaid dresses 2012 hem dress! as people across the pond can’t get enough of the U.K.’s future queen.

The slices of Kate and William’s cake were a hot commodity at the auction as their cake sold alongside items owned by some of the most iconic stars that ever lived. With Megan Street's wedding 10 months away, she has her wedding dress picked out, a custom order she dreamed about even before getting engaged. What she sought at a bridal gown sale held at the Delaware State Fairgrounds Saturday, she said, was a backup dress for the reception, to dance in, to drink toasts in. The dress she'd wear when she let her hair down and let loose.

“I needed a reception dress,” Street, 25, of Bridgeville, said as she stood in line to try one on.The corset and tulle wedding dresses from Belk are elegant and tasteful. Dozens of women in the Dover Building were doing the same; a line of hundreds more stretched past the door outside, waiting their turn to shop among hundreds of dresses, each priced at only $100. “I'll wear my real dress during dinner, but for the reception, I don't want it ruined.”

The $100 dress sale was arranged by the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, the second time it's sold donated bridal gowns as a fundraiser. The nonprofit group's development director, Priscilla Rakestraw, said another charity, Brides Against Breast Cancer, donated 950 gowns to the coalition last year when the Delaware group expressed interest in doing a dress sale. Another 200 dresses were donated by individuals and businesses, she said.

All were priced at $100 – “the Black Friday of dresses,” Street called it – with the proceeds going to the charity that supports people diagnosed with breast cancer. Among the dresses were couture and designer gowns with values up to $10,000, according to the coalition.

A March sale held in Wilmington over three days moved many of the dresses off the rack, but Rakestraw said the DBCC was overwhelmed, and overjoyed, by the much higher turnout at Saturday's one-day sale.Justin Alexander's 2012 high low prom dresses are the epitome of sophisticated and affordable elegance. Even after the doors opened at 9 a.m., a 100-person line remained outside the building.A traditional Off-Shoulder Wedding Dresses specialising in providing an exclusively personal and professional service for brides.

Volunteers let in a few shoppers at a time. When a bride-to-be bought a dress, they rang a hand bell, and a disc jockey played a snippet of “Here Comes the Bride.” Other shoppers clapped and cheered.

“I'm stunned by this,” Rakestraw said of the crowd. “We dreamed last night there might be 20 people in line. We never expected 300.”

Women, of course, were drawn by the opportunity to buy a wedding dress for a fraction of what one would normally cost.

“This is a huge help,” said Dana Spicer, 34, of Salisbury, Md., who came with four friends to help her choose styles . “$700, that was my ballpark. I wasn't paying more than that for one night of a dress.”

She wanted an A-line gown with lace and beading for her January 2014 wedding, and was prepared to spend hours searching the aisles .

The low price meant a wedding gown could be an impulse purchase, like buying jeans or shoes. “If they buy it here and find something else later, they can always sell it on eBay,” coalition Executive Director Vicky Cooke said. “It's a win-win.”

For some women whose lives had been touched by breast cancer, it felt good to give their shopping a charitable twist.

“I've had a friend who had breast cancer. My future mother-in-law has it, too,” said Heather Fenn, 40, of Dover, shopping for a gown to wear in her February wedding. “It's for a good cause.”

You can't miss the Kardashians when their circus rolls into town. Everything about the clan — from Kim's absurdly proportioned derriere to their bodyguards — is over-hyped, over-sized and more than a little over the top.

Travelling with 47 hangers-on (security, assistants, advisers and a make-up and hair team), Kim and Kourtney swept into Heathrow on Wednesday. Sister Khloe arrived on Friday. The objective of the invasion was to flog as many cheap cocktail dresses as possible from the 'Kardashian Kollection' they have 'designed' for Dorothy Perkins.

And boy, did they roll up their sleeves and throw themselves into it.

The Kardashian sisters Khloe, Kim and Kourtney (left to right) modelling their new 'Kardashian Kollection' clothing line for Dorothy Perkins. The siblings created over 100 pieces for the brand

There were numerous interviews, a VIP party, nightclub appearances and a raid on Hamleys. Everywhere they went, the sisters were dropped off and picked up in matching, chauffeured Rolls-Royces.

The Kardashian-mania climaxed with hysterical scenes at the Westfield shopping centre in London's Shepherds Bush on Saturday. Up to 10,000 fans — mostly young women — had descended there in the hope of meeting their idols.

Several hundred slept in the centre's car park overnight, and some required medical attention in the crush to see the sisters. Police shut the mall briefly to manage the crowds.

Khloe, 28, who is on her first visit to London, wore a 75 leather-look trench coat from their collection, and a fixed smile.

After meeting and greeting 500 fans, the sisters were released into another area to conduct yet more media interviews.

The five-day London blitzkrieg has sealed their reputation for being — how can I put this kindly — somewhat short of intellectual giants. Despite more than 50 interviews with print, radio and TV outlets, not a single statement of any interest was uttered.

However, it was clear from the scale and intensity of the crowds following them around that — for a certain demographic, at least — they are the biggest stars on the planet.

Indeed, by the end of the Kardashian Kavalcade, the Dorothy Perkins website had sold out of the outfits the ladies sported.

The Kardashian family — including the girls' parents Kris and Bruce — rose to fame in 2007 when a sex tape Kim had made with her then boyfriend, singer Ray J, four years earlier was leaked online.

The resulting furore led to a reality TV show called Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which has been running for five years and has made Kim, Kourtney and Khloe the most recognisable sisters on the planet.

They are famous for their womanly figures — depending on your opinion, Kim is the hottest woman on the planet or has a rear like a badly stuffed parachute — and for taking hunger for publicity to astonishing new depths.Search our wedding photo gallery for thousands of the best Junior Bridesmaid Dresses pictures.

Kourtney allowed the Keeping Up With cameras to film the birth of her second child Penelope, and Kim sold the pictures of her wedding to 6ft9in basketball ace Kris Humphries for 1million to People magazine. A mere 72 days later she filed for divorce.

Many people (including the groom) think she got married only for the publicity. But this spotlight-soaked life has been lucrative.

Over the past five years the sisters have grown rich thanks to the show and endorsements of everything you can imagine: cupcakes, diet pills, jewellery, jeans, perfume, make-up and a range of clothes for American department store Sears.

Now comes their clothes range in good old Dotty Ps.

That the women have pulling power can't be denied. On Wednesday, 200 girls were camped outside London's Dorchester hotel awaiting their arrival. Over the weekend, that swelled to 500.

Khloe, who is a presenter on American X Factor, tweeted: 'OMG wow I just checked into the hotel and I had no idea how many amazing people would be outside!!! Hi London Town!!! Hugs.'

The trio and their entourage occupied most of the five-star hotel, including the Harlequin Suite (9,318 a night) and Terrace Suite (7,518 a night).

From the instant they crossed the threshold of The Dorchester, Sir Philip Green, whose company owns Dorothy Perkins, served as their avuncular guide.

He sat in on their interviews and inveigled himself into their photo call on Wednesday with all the subtlety of a brick passing through a window.

On this trip, the sisters have been repeatedly asked three questions: whose style do they admire; are there any British guys they find cute; and what do they think of London?

We learned that their style hero — though you might not suspect it from the riot of leopard-print, sequins and gold they are flogging — is the effortlessly understated Kate Middleton. 'She is super-chic and stylish,' gushed Kim.

Despite this generous endorsement, there was no sign of the girls' lunch with the Duchess of Cambridge — which Kim had said was her ultimate London objective.

Each day has involved multiple outfit changes to show off the Kollection to its best advantage.

On ITV's Lorraine on Friday, Kim, 33, modelled one of the Dorothy Perkins dresses over a distractingly deep cleavage.

Within a few hours her red dress had sold out online in size eight; by Saturday there were only size 14s and 16s left.

So carried away was Kim by the success, she managed to misspell the brand 'Dorthey Perkins' in a Tweet, and told her followers the range would be stocked in a country called 'Isreal'.

Kourtney, meanwhile, visited Hamleys with her children and her partner Scott Disick, a male model, where she tried to pay for her purchases in dollars. They later took a spin on the London Eye before having a Japanese meal at Zuma in Knightsbridge.

At every outing, the Kardashians loyally wore some piece or other from their range.

At a VIP launch at London nightclub Aqua on Thursday night, Kim wore a 45 black sequin dress from the Kollection. By Saturday night it had sold out online.

Embarrassingly for the brand, no one famous showed up, aside from the sisters themselves and Kim's rap-star boyfriend Kanye West.

They had to make do with sharing the sashimi canapes and white-chocolate lollipops with a smattering of this year's X Factor contestants.

For dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant Hakkasan, Kim wore a suction-tight, too-short, 100 per cent polyester black dress.

On Saturday, she wore another intestine-crushing black dress (polyester again) from the Kollection — but all eyes were on her 792 Balmain gold-buckle belt.

Sadly for her many fans, the belt is not available at Dorothy Perkins.

Indeed, though the Kollection is firmly High Street,Read Wedding Dress Shops reviews and store ratings you buy online. Kim's own tastes are anything but.

She arrived in town wearing a 3,863 Versace leather trench coat teamed with 1,436 thigh-high boots by Tom Ford and 489 Rick Owen sunglasses.

She was also pictured in a fur coat, to wails of outrage from animal rights group PETA.

As far as Sir Philip is concerned, though, the ladies can do no wrong.

He told a reporter from Women's Wear Daily: 'I have been seriously impressed with the way these girls work. They are smart and savvy, and know how to build a brand.'

He confirms he has committed to 'a couple of seasons' of the Kardashian Kollection, and has plans to launch their interiors collection in BHS.

After that, he says:, 'I've got an idea, a big idea. It's going to blow the roof.' Which — given how big the Kardashian Khaos is already — sounds ominous indeed.

Wedding Band: Sitcom. 10 p.m. Saturday on TBS.

Usually, I'm grateful when a TV comedy series eschews the use of a laugh track,We have wedding dresses made in china wholesale with color and halter bridal gowns at low online prices. but in the case of the new TBS show "Wedding Band," I suspect they couldn't even get the dang machine to laugh.

The new series, premiering Saturday night, is an hour long, while most sitcoms, of course, are 30 minutes. Here's betting you won't need three minutes to reach for the remote.

The show is about a wedding band, which offers lots of comedic possibilities, all of which go entirely unrealized in the three episodes sent to critics as punishment. ... I'm sorry: I meant, "for review."

The band members are all familiar types: lead singer Tommy (Brian Austin Green, "Beverly Hills 90210") is a commitment-shy womanizer; Peter Cambor ("NCIS: Los Angeles") is Eddie, a married guy with kids, a regular job and dreams of rekindling his lost youth; Barry (Derek Miller, "Secret Girlfriend") is a Jack Black-like drummer who sees arena shows in the band's future; and Stevie (Harold Perrineau, "Lost") is a veteran session musician who's played with greats and is now in a Seattle wedding band.

Because wedding bands have to adapt to all kinds of ceremonies, you'd think executive producer Mike Tollin ("Arli$$") and writers Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle ("South Park") would be able to milk laughs from, say, the guys playing a fantasy-fiction-themed wedding where everyone speaks Elvish and dresses in weird costumes, favoring horns and pointy ears as must-have accessories.

The pilot episode has the band playing at the wedding of the one woman who dumped Tommy before he could head for the door, and the failed jokes involve an accidentally deflated breast implant.

What the show needs is a comedy implant. The show isn't funny, but worse, it's not interesting. The characters are dull, the performances off the mark at virtually every level, and the writing is flatter than a deflated implant.

The sooner this thing gets annulled, the better.

Before she knew it, Charlene Esposto-Scheibler was belting out an aria in the middle of a bridal shop.

There was something about being a bride that made her want to sing. She's got the voice for it. The 28-year-old Hamiltonian is a trained soprano. She was gown shopping for her September nuptials at a Woodbridge boutique.

“My mom, being the Sicilian mother that she is, is bragging about my singing abilities, so the next thing you know - in my wedding gown - I'm singing Ava Maria and the whole store, and stores next to them are coming in to see what's going on,” Esposto-Scheibler said.

That performance landed Esposto-Scheibler a cameo in TLC's new reality show Bada-Bling Brides.

The series revolves around the D'Agostino family's Italian bridal shop. It's the place to for over-the-top, couture gowns meant for extravagant brides.

The shop owner, Leah D'Agostino, suggested a few brides to TLC. Esposto-Scheibler was the one she remembered. “They're from the same town with us in Sicily, and there you go, you've got an instant family,” she said.

Esposto-Scheibler had to go through an audition. TLC liked what they saw and heard. Then she returned to the shop to film her first fitting for the show.

“It was funny because I was originally supposed to be there to find my gown and the owner was showing me my dress... of course I was clearly in love with it and she took it out right away and said, 'Try this one on,” she said. “I'm used to being on the stage and acting through things but I thought, 'How can I act through this? This is my dress! How can I pretend that I don't want this one. This is mine!"”

She's no stranger to showbiz. Esposto-Scheibler had an accomplished singing career by the age of 7. By 11, she was singing with the Hamilton's Children's Choir, and eventually took on the role of head chorister.

She has sung for stars like Celine Dion, at Dion's Toronto stop of her Let's Talk about Love tour. And, she even sang for Pope John Paul II at World Youth Day in 2002. But, for the last few years her singing career has been on hold. Her singing voice has been silent while her mind focuses on school.

“For me, academics are huge,” she said. “It's an important part of my family.Show off your beauty with ball gown wedding dress hem dress!”

That means Esposto-Scheibler is not just the bride with the golden voice. She just graduated with a Master's in psychology. She plans to put her education to use in the field of market research. But her need to sing still calls.

“I do have a passion for singing and I love being in front of everyone, it's what I was born to do,” she said. “Eventually my career will have to involve me being in front of people, me guiding people, me inspiring people...Beach wedding dresses chiffon, one wedding dresses from china for girls special events. That's why I enjoy singing so much.

Esposto-Scheibler is now taking on singing opportunities in the community, trying to become more known. She recently performed at the Good Shepherd Centre's harvest dinner.

“I'm so excited to have people inspired by my voice, it's so humbling,” she said. “It's a beautiful experience. I look forward to it every time it happens.”

All Esposto-Scheibler knows about TLC's Thursday night show is she'll have a short appearance and there will be a clip of her singing. She'll watch at home with her new husband and her mom.

Although Billy Ray Cyrus appears to think otherwise, Miley Cyrus is planning to marry "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth only once.

The 19-year-old clarifies in an interview on "Ellen" Thursday that she's not having multiple weddings, as her dad recently hinted to Us Weekly. Perhaps that was wishful thinking on Billy Ray's part, as he joked that he was angling to get a movie role or three out of this Hemsworth-Cyrus union.

"Liam asked if he could have my daughter's hand in marriage, and I said yes if I could be in his brother [Chris Hemsworth]'s next movie," Billy Ray told Us Weekly. "Now, they are going to have three weddings, so I'm thinking one movie with Chris, then we got the sequel to Liam's new movie coming out. They have got three weddings, that has to be three movies for me."

Unfortunately for Billy Ray's blockbuster dreams, Miley said she's planning no such thing.

"There's some rumor going around that I'm having 47 weddings, I'm not. I'm having one wedding, that's my day, and whatever I want on that day it'll be about me and that moment, that look of love," she told Ellen.

And while she doesn't know when her wedding will be, she does know exactly what she's aiming for: perfection.

"I'm so focused on my record, that I don't want to kind of be in between touring and trying to plan all that. ... It's a lot of weird detail. I don't want to be doing too much and be crazy and forget about the moment of it all," the 19-year-old said. "That moment of when he first gets to see me in my dress, and everything all together - it has to be perfect, it has to be like the soundtrack in like a movie."

A wedding day, she continued, is "the one day where that movie crap is real, that romance. I've been to probably 10, 20 weddings, and I've seen that real look five, six times. It's rare that people just stop to really look the person in the eye and know that this is your life together."

HO CHI MINH MAUSOLEUM

The embalmed body of Uncle Ho, as Vietnamese affectionately call their late founding president Ho Chi Minh, can be viewed inside an enormous granite mausoleum. For many Vietnamese,Beach wedding dresses chiffon, one wedding dresses from china for girls special events. the trip to Hanoi to see the famous revolutionary who liberated them from French colonial rule is considered a must-do. The mausoleum offers regular changing of the guard ceremonies, but is only open during certain hours and days.Show off your beauty with ball gown wedding dress hem dress! OLD QUARTER WALKING TOUR

The 36 ancient streets that make up Hanoi's Old Quarter are a maze of madness filled with treasures. The streets are narrow and so are the houses, but that doesn't stop the constant crush of motorbikes and the increasing number of cars mixing with bicycles, tourists and rickshaws known as cyclos. Despite the chaos, the Old Quarter should not be missed. Its lanes are overflowing with everything from touristy trinkets to fine silks, along with the wares for which each street is named. Locals still go there to buy everything from bamboo to buttons. Tuck into a small traditional market within the Old Quarter or a big one, such as Dong Xuan, for another colorful glimpse of daily Vietnamese life and foods.

Staring her 30th birthday in the face, pink slip from her Los Angeles-based online magazine in hand, Marisa Lynch went to drown her sorrows in a showing of the end-all, be-all of 365-day-adventure journeys: Julie & Julia.

By the time she walked out of the theater, Marisa was inspired to use the sewing skills she inherited from her mom, a home economics teacher, to turn secondhand fashion rejects into stunning runway knock-offs. Plus, because it was the height of the Recession and she was newly "funemployed," Marisa decided she was going to do it all for less than $1 a day,Gorgeous Vintage Wedding Dresses gowns are a modern and elegant alternative to strapless. and her blog New Dress a Day was born.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Marisa for Shoestring back in 2010 (when she was only at day 255 of her 365-day DIY challenge), and was immediately in "lurve," to borrow a Marisa-ism. Since then, a beautiful DIY friendship was born and Marisa has catapulted to DIY stardom through on-screen appearances with Nate Berkus, Ricki Lake, Anderson Cooper, and Martha Stewart, just to name a few. Like this before & after segment she did last year with the E! Red Carpet team at the Oscars, where she transformed dresses from Goodwill into paparazzi-worthy gowns for the actresses who played the sisters in The Fighter -- Lowell,Browse Martha Stewart Weddings' Short Sleeve Wedding Dresses collection. represent!

Marisa's passion is sharing her love for "crafternoons" and creative "zhuzhing" of thrift store finds with fashion-hungry (yet broke) ladies everywhere with the publication of her new book, New Dress a Day: The Ultimate DIY Guide to Creating Fashion Dos from Thrift-Store Don'ts (Ballantine, 2012).

As promised in our inaugural DIY Boston post, we're kicking off the first of our DIY Boston Nights workshops this weekend with a book signing and crafter reception for Marisa!

So, while we have this effervescent, Amy Adams-esque fashion expert captive, we asked her our Maker Moment questions. Below,Yolan Cris 2013 Chelsea Escocia long cheap wedding dresses from china. Marisa shares more about her obsession with muumuus, what she loves to do when she's not sewing, and, even though she's never lived here (cough, cough, yet), why she's a big fan of Boston.

What's the first project you remember making/crafting?
First project was a sweatshirt in 7th grade home ec. I chose teal, obviously, because it was 1992. That was the first project with a sewing machine!

Most successful project? Biggest fail?
Most successful project ? hmm, I'd say any of the pieces that I've done for other people. I just did a wedding veil for a girlfriend who got hitched and she was beyond moved. Things like that are the most successful to me ? she was happy, so I was happy! Biggest fail ? I think that some projects I love more than others, but none I'd say was a total fail!

What do you DIY the most?
I love muumuus. I think I was Homer Simpson in a former life.

Favorite/least favorite tools/materials?
Obsessed with Fray Check and glue guns!! Is it weird that I love the smell of hot glue?

Has a project outcome ever surprised you?
YES! I just finished a piece that I wore to a wedding that I dyed. I wasn't sure how the color was going to turn out and it ended up being a subtle shade of blue and absolutely stunning!

What's the best advice you've ever received?
As long as you feel good in what you're wearing, that's all that matters!

What's your top tip for first-timers?
I know it might be scary to cut a garment that is in perfectly fine condition, but start with baby steps and go crazy Edward Scissorhands-ing an old t shirt or rag before you begin on a piece you're super excited about.

Anything you DIY now that you never thought you would?
I've been starting to do a ton of home pieces! Not that I didn't think I would, but starting to carve out time outside of garments has been awesome!

What won't you ever DIY/when do you call in the experts?
Ooh, that would have to be anything that cost a fortune or something like a pair of excellent pants or a blazer that needs perfection tailoring. For those pieces, I will drop them off to a real, pattern-experted, professional tailor.

"When I'm not making stuff, I'm..."
Watching copious amounts of television. Obsessed with Breaking Bad, Homeland, and Revenge! And cooking ? I have a monthly cooking club with girlfriends, so I love to go hog wild with epicurious recipes!

Have you ever lived in Boston?
I've never lived in Boston, however I applied to Boston College (and got in!!) and some of my best friends are Emerson, BC, and Northeastern grads. Straight up love for the Pats, even though I'm a Jets fan tried and true. What...Tom Brady is a babe?!?!

AT 9 p.m. Friday, the Eastern Bloc, a popular gay bar in the East Village, was ready for business. The Beastie Boys' “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)” blared, and the room was bathed in a red glow.

“The power's on, the ice machine is going, we threw out all the bad fruit,” said Matt Nasser, the bartender. “We're cutting fresh ones and the alcohol didn't go bad.”

But not a single customer was yet in sight. Most still seemed to be at home, recovering from Hurricane Sandy by cleaning out their refrigerators and reflexively turning on every light switch and testing every household appliance, just to reassure themselves that power had really returned to Lower Manhattan.

That would soon change. For four sleepy nights, the bars, restaurants and A-list spots that make downtown Manhattan a party capital went dark. So when the lights flickered back early Friday evening in the East Village, SoHo, Chelsea and elsewhere, bars were open practically within seconds, with patrons partying at the (aptly named) Electric Room at the Dream Downtown hotel past 3 a.m.

They were mindful, of course, that many in the region were still without power, or even homeless, but there was a need to get back as fast as possible to their old routines.

Diners trickled back to their favorite restaurants, TriBeCa and Chelsea residents swapped tales about what it had been like to live in the foreign land of the Upper East Side or Brooklyn, and a wedding went off without a hitch, even though the bridal party didn't know for sure until Saturday morning where the reception for 300 would take place that afternoon.

Around 10:30 p.m., the veteran party promoter Erich Conrad was having a drink with friends at the Bowery Hotel. He stayed there all week in the dark because at least it had cold water, which was more than he could say for his apartment. And as he told it, he'd had a blast.

“It was very 'Downton Abbey,' ” Mr. Conrad said. “We were kind of sad when the lights went on. It was really nice to be here with people. It was beautiful, and the staff was so nice.”

Matt Misbin, 22, who was sitting at Calliope, a neighborhood restaurant, agreed. “It was a democratizing experience,” he said. “Because no one had power.”

The meatpacking district, which suffered extensive flooding, was devoid of the outer-borough visitors who swarm its cobblestone streets on weekend nights. Most establishments were closed, but life was returning to the Dream Downtown just north on West 16th Street near Ninth Avenue.

By 11 p.m., a small crowd was gathering at the Electric Room, a popular underground club that decided at the last minute to hold a Sandy recovery party. “With the name, it was just too good — the irony,” said Nur Khan, who runs the club.

Mr. Khan, a SoHo resident, said that he had spent the last few days holed up at the Carlyle hotel on the Upper East Side, where fashionable downtowners had camped out and partied during the blackout. It was “going off every night” with the “downtown kids shaking up the stodgy, conservative scene,” he said. “But things closed at 12:30.Buy evening dresses from china, which enjoy popularity for all kinds of women for good quality. I was itching to get back.”

“The scene up there is hilarious,” added Sophie Sumner, a model who won “America's Next Top Model: British Invasion,” and had arrived early to the party. She, too, had fled to the Carlyle. “You have the fashion set and then you have the 19-year-old who's Botoxed out of her mind.”

By early morning, a lively crowd had converged, ready to shake off the previous week, even as basic provisions like food were hard to come by. “I had to ask my roommate if I could have our last can of chicken and bean soup before I came tonight,” DJ Elle Dee said.

The mood picked up Saturday night. After power was restored to the West Village and the rest of Manhattan, and residents had time to put their apartments in order, night life came roaring back.

Over at the corner of Kenmare and Elizabeth Streets, a parking garage was transformed into a “Power-On” party, hosted by the owners of the Smile and Tacombi.

Downtown artists, models in short boots and fashion insiders hiked up three flights of concrete stairs and took over an entire floor of the garage, which had been decorated with a disco ball and dry ice. Chicken, pork and corn tacos were dished out of a VW bus. Vodka and fruity flavors of Red Bull, mezcal shots and beer were served. Everything was free, but the point of the party was to raise money. Donations were taken for storm relief efforts.

By 11 p.m., it was mobbed. The D.J. Roctakon played tracks by Snoop Dogg and Destiny's Child, while single women gushed about the abundance of attractive men. “It's a dude fest in here,” one young woman said happily.

For those already taken, the storm had provided plenty of romantic moments. “My girlfriend wanted to kill me because I wanted to stay, but every night it was just us two: no phones and wine by candlelight,” said Matt Kliegman, an owner of the Smile, who lives two blocks away.

There were also moments of kindness. “I couldn't believe the people who stepped up,” said Dario Wolos, the owner of Tacombi, who also lives nearby and stayed through the power failure. “One of our staff is from Yonkers and he would go to his local gas station and haul in gallons of gas just so we could get around.”

And life went on, if not resiliently, then with a new lens. Carlos Quirarte, another owner of the Smile, had trained for Sunday's canceled marathon.

“Some of us guys are going to do a run tomorrow anyway, maybe a 20-miler,” Mr. Quirarte said on Saturday. “After that, we're going to the Rockaways to help out.”

Surely I can't be the only one to point out that the average woman in the UK is a size 16 - I already know plenty of size 16+ friends who are disappointed that they can't buy anything but the handbags! Although I'm sure they're very sexy too...

The US reality TV star, currently dating Kanye West, is curvier than most A-list celebs and famed for her volumptuous bottom, so she must know too well the pressure to dress to suit your shape.

Kim recently admitted she'd put on 15 - 20lb after letting herself go dating Kanye West.

'I'm hoping to slim down a little bit, and I'm not afraid to say it,' says Kim. 'I think everyone goes up and down in whatever that comfortable love relationship phase is where you like to eat out, but now it's time to get it together again.'

And her sister Khloe has recently admitted she finds the struggle to look good tough too.

She says: 'It isn't easy. My weight fluctuates, like any normal girl, and I have times when I feel insecure. Who cares if I'm not a size zero? I don't want to be.'

So come on Kim and co, think about everyone else who isn't a perfect size 10!

We love the figure-hugging lace evening dress, printed blazers, purple body-con dresses and super-sexy lingerie - wouldn't it be nice if size 18+ could wear it as well?

This really is a fascinating couple. Wikipedia says that Pitt, who has received four Academy Award nominations and five Golden Globe Award nominations, winning one Golden Globe, has been described as one of the world's most attractive men. And IMDb reports that Jolie, who is an Oscar-winning actress, often appears on many "most beautiful women" lists. And there is more to Jolie than just being beautiful and talented, she is clearly also a beautiful person who has become prominently involved in international charity projects, especially those involving refugees.

Look to the Stars reports that Jolie has been on field missions around the world and has met with refugees and displaced persons in more than 20 countries, including Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cambodia, Pakistan, Thailand, Ecuador, Kosovo, Kenya, Namibia, Sri Lanka, North Caucasus, Jordan, Egypt, New Delhi, Costa Rica, Chad, Syria, Haiti, Iraq, and elsewhere. If you're buying your gown out of the state you live in, ask the bridal shop to ship you the dress rather than you taking it home with you. Although you'll have to pay for shipping (maybe $75, max), you won't have to pay tax on the dress. For example, I bought my dress in New York City but live in Baltimore.Elegant Mermaid Wedding Dresses to cover your arms. I would have paid more than $200 in tax but with opting to ship, I will only have to pay $50.

Estimated savings: $150

The Gifts

Remember to be practical with gifts for the bridal party and parents. Give them something they can continue to use after the wedding or something they can enjoy with you. With that, consider alternative options to the mainstream brands when buying gifts. For example, Tiffany's is a great go-to for bridesmaid jewelry but it can completely break the bank. Instead, find a local Stella and Dot consultant for your jewelry needs. The cost is significantly less but you're still getting real metals, high quality and beautiful design.

If you have your eyes and ears open, you can discover sales lessons in unexpected places, including the cable TV show, Say Yes To The Dress.

I do not consume much TV content, other than cable news. However, my wife is a major fan of fashion oriented “reality” TV shows, including Say Yes To The Dress (Say Yes). In my ongoing quest to be a wonderful husband, I have watched some of these shows with my lovely bride (sorry, I draw the line at Project Runway).

Reality Selling

The show’s format is fairly straightforward. The wedding dress selection odyssey of several women is explored, with the usual doses of contrived reality TV conflict, such as the overbearing mother-in-law, the cheap dad, the indecisive bride and the obtrusive groom who has outrageously bad taste. The show takes place in two upscale bridal shops, one in New York and the other in Atlanta.

There are a number of solid sales techniques on display by the Say Yes team. Most of them are directly applicable to selling virtually anything to anyone. These techniques include:

1. Actively Listen - The most important selling skill is effective listening. The show refers to the salespeople as “consultants,” which reinforces each store’s problem solving approach to selling. The Say Yes consultants ask a number of questions before a bride tries on her first dress. Throughout the sales process, they continually probe and modify their sales approach, based on the bride’s feedback.

Active listening leads to empathy, which in turn enhances your ability to persuade and influence your prospect. Steven Covey’s oft-quoted insight holds true when selling, “Seek first to understand, then seek to be understood.” Such pro active communications allows startups to be more responsive than their larger, resource-rich competitors.

2. Assess Budget - The Say Yes salespeople are straightforward about determining the bride’s budget at the outset of the sales process. They are also careful to not show a bride dresses that greatly exceed their budget because they know it can jeopardize the sale. Once someone tries on an expensive dress which is outside of their price range, it is often difficult for them to be satisfied with dresses that conform to their budget.

Startup sales require high velocity. You typically cannot afford to spend time with prospects that are not ready to buy. An efficient way to qualify a potential customer is to determine the size and availability of their budget.

Once this is known, a successful salesperson crafts an affordable solution that solves the prospect’s problems. If a prospect’s budget does not allow for a near-term purchase, reduce the cadence of your communications with the prospect, while maintaining a relationship you can leverage once the prospect’s budgetary constraints are resolved.

3. Woo Influencers - In nearly every instance, the Say Yes brides bring an entourage of friends and relatives with them.20 onbridals We Love. The salespeople must assess the bride’s posse and determine who will have the most impact on the bride’s purchase.

Effective salespeople must also properly identify the respective roles and relative influence of the individuals involved in the sales process. Whenever I pitch a group of people, I always take the time at the outset to learn a bit about each participant.

This information helps me determine who will an impact the buying process and who is just along for the ride. I treat everyone with an equal level of respect and deference, while ensuring I fulfill the needs of those with the most influence.

4. Bolster The Champion - The Say Yes sales consultants often provide emotional support for brides who are overly chided by the influencers in their entourage. In many instances, the sales folks have to shut down the influencers by reminding them that the bride’s opinion is ultimately what matters. This becomes a delicate balancing act when the influencer is also bankrolling the purchase.

In non-reality TV sales situations, it is frequently difficult to identify your true champion. In some instances, a well-meaning champion does not have the social and political capital to close the sale. This requires you to support your would-be champion, as you do not want them working against you, while you continue to seek a true champion who can help you get the deal done.

5. Sell What You Have - The Say Yes sales team’s priority is to get customers to select “the perfect dress” from whatever they have on the racks. Startups must follow a similar philosophy. Selling the future can be effective, as long as it does not result in a prospect postponing their purchase, waiting for the promised features to be created and vetted by the market.

6. Keep It Fun – Every sales process involves a degree of mixed emotions. When buying a wedding dress, the emotional aspects of the transaction can overwhelm the buyer’s ability to make a rational decision. The Say Yes team reduces the risk of an emotional meltdown by maintaining a lighthearted atmosphere and ensuring that the buying process is entertaining.

Sales professionals must similarly maintain an emotional balance during the sales process. If a prospect is pushed too hard, they might seek relief by breaking off the sales discussions. Thus, you risk eliciting a “No” from your prospect if you create an overwhelming sense of urgency. Effective selling requires you to push the sale to a close while respecting the pace of the prospect’s decision process.

This is an excerpt from “Women of Vail,” by Elaine Kelton and Carolyn Pope. The Vail Daily is serializing the book as Vail celebrates its 50th anniversary.

My grandfather was the governor of Burma, and I was born there. My father was in the Indian army, and when war came, my mother, sister and I went to England, where I was educated. Then I worked in a very boring secretarial job in London until 1962. I had a friend in Canada who had a connection with Vail, so it seemed the right time to go and live in the States. I wrote a letter and was hired at The Lodge at Vail. Little did I know they couldn't get anybody to work.

I had thoughts of St. Moritz as I daydreamed on the bus to Denver. An Austrian from The Lodge drove me to Vail — through the town of Dillon, no reservoir yet, and we ate in Georgetown. No snow, Dec. 5, 1962 — Year 1. It was a construction camp with mud, and The Lodge was still being built. There was a cookhouse trailer in front where everybody ate. Everything was way behind schedule. I was by myself, and it was getting dark and looked so strange to me. They put me up in Dick Hauserman's rental apartment. Snow came in January that year. In Denver, they didn't know much about Vail at all, but we got publicity because astronauts had put money in Crested Butte.

The next morning, I woke up and looked out and up the mountain — then I could see what it was about. That was pretty spectacular. I had never skied, and learning to ski was part of the attraction. No employee housing, they never got around to doing it. That first year, they moved us to wherever they had a little space. We lived in the Lodge, but the trouble with that was that it didn't have heat or running water. You had to run to Fitzhugh Scott's house for the bathroom.Buy evening dresses from china, which enjoy popularity for all kinds of women for good quality.

The Wild West

They opened on Dec. 15. VA owned everything including The Lodge because nobody else would build one. They wanted a grand lodge, but nobody would do it. This was in the middle of nowhere, over two mountain passes, small roads, and no town close by. The tourist center was in Denver, and it was a long way away. Nobody knew if this place was going to go or not, and it very nearly didn't. I worked in the reservation office and helped at the front desk. I wrote letters, so I suppose I was the manager's secretary. There was very little snow that first year. In fact, we drove up to Mid-Vail in a VW Beetle on Dec. 10. They were testing the lift. We were the first ones on Lift 4 and went to the top. I didn't have any winter clothes and only little boots. We got off to look over at the Back Bowls — the snow didn't come over my ankles. The U.S. Ski Team came and trained at Vail that winter. They had the army coming in with baskets putting snow under the trees — no machinery then.

It was a great hiding place for crooks and a great place to work if you didn't want anybody to find you. Shootouts and wild things were going on. One of the bellboys wanted to kill the chef; he got drunk but didn't have a gun. The head of ski patrol was a deputy. They wrestled the bellboy to the ground and drove him off to Eagle. One of the 10 Most Wanted on the FBI list worked as a dishwasher. It was the Wild West. I was a cocktail waitress, too, because you needed to have two or three jobs.

Anne and Joe Staufer arrived in January; Rod and Heather Slifer were newlyweds; Isabel came with the Kansas City Ski Club and met Manfred (Schober). Bunny Langmaid, Blanche, Barbara Parker. Gaynor and Joann Miller were some of the people with businesses. Gretta was here quite a lot with Bill Whiteford. Suzie Kuehn (Shepard); Hemmye and Irene Westbye. Roger and Barbara Brown. After ski season, I decided I didn't want to be here anymore. Socially it wasn't for me. I had a cousin at Berkeley, so I went to San Francisco and loved it there.

New experiences

By September, I realized I had to go back to Vail to collect my stuff; I came back to find that Joe Staufer had persuaded VA to open The Lodge in summer. They did it with a skeleton staff that included Jim Slevin. He was there because Dick Hauserman was building the Plaza Building and persuaded Jim to open something — open a restaurant! He did, and they talked me into staying. It was a fun atmosphere. They had horses where Manor Vail is, and we rode where the golf course is. We went fishing. Then we'd do our various shifts. Joe had a special weekend deal for $15 a room for two nights, two dinners, two breakfasts and a gondola ride.

Jim Slevin and I got to be close. Then Peter Seibert came to me and asked me to work for him in the winter. I had to decide if I should stay one more winter. I worked for Pete as his secretary up Bridge Street. I was living in a trailer with three other girls. Jim and I got married, and he opened La Cave New Year's Eve 1963. He paid a year's liquor license for one night. You could dance, and it was the first discotheque in Colorado. My sister sent two 45 rpm records by a new group in England that was causing a stir — The Beatles. “She Loves Me” and “I Want To Hold Your Hand.” We had a combined restaurant/nightclub and stayed open 'till 2 in the morning. It was a lot of work, and we didn't have much time to ski; that's why I never became a good skier. I even remember sitting in our apartment and throwing all the bills up in the air, catching one, and saying that this was the lucky guy who was going to get paid. People were so nice and helped each other out — no cutthroat stuff, not too much greed. Developers weren't there yet.

It was such a gamble in those days. Jim had produced a couple of plays in New York, and they'd lost money. Dick Hauserman invited him to visit, and he stayed. Weird coincidences. People were arriving and staying — like the Morettis. It was becoming more interesting. Employees were always very hard to come by, especially in the restaurant business. We built Golden Peak House in 1967 with the Morettis and opened the Copper Bar because we couldn't get anyone to come to La Cave underground for lunch. Breakfast and lunch — plus nighttime. Donovan was our bartender, and he was so good at it. He asked to buy the bar, and that's how Donovan's came to be. I opened Kaleidoscope with Anne Staufer; we had no idea what we were doing. Personally, the thing I would say about coming to the States (or maybe it was the Vail experience) was that it enabled me to do all these amazing things that I could never in a zillion years have done in England, ever. Women with no business experience. Then we started the Children's Corner in the same building when I realized there was big potential. We were the first and only one; yuppies were having children later in life and had more money. They were willing to spend money on children's ski clothes and not just dress them up in old ski pants.

Wonderful days

Nobody in my family came over here except my sister who worked at the Copper Bar. My family would have said, “You can't possibly do that.” But we weren't scared to open a business.

Interstate 70 and the tunnel were being built. Wild things — we went to Minturn for breakfast when La Cave closed at 2 o'clock in the morning — to a place called Jeff's, I think. It was the original Saloon. All the early people will tell you that they wouldn't have missed those early years for anything. People gave lovely parties, and everybody was invited. Halloween was always a big fun thing. It all seemed to be centered on going to bars and having a wild time and drinking. We worked very hard, too. That was our social outlet. You didn't just jump in your car and go to Denver. You stayed overnight, loading up with food at the supermarket. Best parties were at the Casino, the Kindels', and Sheika gave great parties. It was always fun to go up to the Murchisons' house. Was there an elite group? Not in the early years.

Here's a story: Jim went to the Vail Village Inn one evening after work. He must have been really drunk and had the idea of going into the pool. So he took off all his clothes and jumped into the VVI pool. A stranger sitting next to him did exactly the same thing.

We had a snoopy postmistress who knew everything. Someone got the mail from Minturn and brought it over. We sent out wedding invitations, and she would say to people, “Have you had your invitation to the Slevin wedding yet?” So we invited everybody. We wanted to get married Oct. 3, but people said to us, “You can't get married Oct. 3; that's the opening of the grouse season.” We changed it to Friday, Oct. 2. On Oct. 3, we went up on the gondola, took our dog, took our guns and hunted grouse. Our dog was hopeless because he was gun-shy. About a week or so later, Blanche and Dick organized the honeymoon. There were 10 or 12 of us on horseback, and we went up to Pitkin Lake. Donovan was shooting grouse from the saddle. We came down the same day on horses. And that was how it was.

Chantelle Houghton finally cracked earlier this week when she revealed on Twitter that Alex Reid had cheated on her with another man.

Talking to The Sun, Chantelle Houghton has now revealed that she once walked in on Alex Reid wearing her old wedding ring that was given to her by ex-husband Samuel Preston who she met on Celebrity Big Brother.

She told the paper: "I found Alex wearing my wedding ring from Preston and another ring I was given by someone special. I will never forget what I saw. I'd just finished Dolly's nursery. There was her cot and her clothes, and next door all this was going on."

Chantelle also went into great detail about the night she returned home while eight months pregnant to find that Alex had turned their home into a sex dungeon,Vintage 1930s Silk Chiffon Short Wedding Dresses with Rhinestones. dressed as his alter ego Roxanne.

She told the paper: "I came home expecting to find Alex asleep but what I walked into was horrific.

"I went upstairs and it had been turned into a sex dungeon. My underwear was all over the landing. Then I walked into the bedroom and saw Alex dressed as his alter ego Roxanne — in stockings, suspenders, a red wig, make-up and heels.

"He had pierced his ears with my earrings and they were bleeding. He had my false eyelashes on and there were sex toys all over the room, welcome to www.onbridals.com! with porn playing on the TV."

Chantelle also believed that Alex wasn't in his right mind at the time, possibly due to the use of legal highs.

She continued: "He looked off his head. I believe he had been taking legal highs. His eyes were glassy and wild.Gorgeous Vintage Wedding Dresses gowns are a modern and elegant alternative to strapless. He was staring, as if in a trance, and was dripping with sweat. The place stank of smoke — he only ever smokes as Roxanne — and just grossness.

"I begged him to stop but he kept saying how horny he felt and asked me to perform a sex act on him."

Looking back, Chantelle Houghton admits that she has no desire to reunite with her ex and is now focused on doing right by their daughter Dolly.

She explained: "I don't miss Alex at all, I miss what my life should be like. But Dolly is amazing, I'm so in love. She's such a happy little girl.

"I've been stupid with men and it will take a lot to trust someone. But I would like to meet someone, maybe have more children.

"For now, I've got to concentrate on giving Dolly the best life I can."

Well that is the most important thing.
